Asus ROG Tytan CG8890 Transform Gaming PC

By | June 12, 2012

Gaming rigs tend to be more on the gaudy side, what with the bright lights and neon colored tubes going in and out of it, but if you think that’s a perfectly acceptable look for gaming PCs, then you might want to check out ASUS’ latest creation. Dubbed the ROG Tytan CG8890, this beast was unveiled at Computex last week and not only does it pack a fair bit of hardware under its hood that will make gamers around the world green with envy, but it comes with a nifty little feature called the Turbo Gear.

Asus Transform PC

It’s a button on the PC itself that when pressed, will kick your rig into overdrive and at the same time transform the PC itself. The panels on the computer will open up and reveal ten fans which will complement the internal liquid cooling system within the setup itself. Given that it is a gaming rig, we suppose it will need all the cooling it can get. Under the hood, the ASUS ROG Tytan will sport an Intel Core i7 CPU (was not mentioned if it was Ivy Bridge), an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 GPU, 16GB DDR3 RAM and two 128GB SSD in RAID0, along with an ASUS Xonar DX sound card which should help with better sound output.

For those who enjoy overclocking their gaming rigs, the ROG Tytan will support overclocking to speeds such as 3.8GHz, 4.0GHz and 4.2GHz. No word on how much this bad boy will cost but safe to say the GTX 690 by itself does cost a pretty penny, not to mention the dual SSDs, so safe to say if this is gaming rig you wouldn’t mind getting your hands on, expect to fork out a chunk of money for it. In the meantime check out the video below to see the ASUS ROG Tytan “transform”.
